doug and margiMeet Your Hosts at C.W. Worth House

Greetings!  I’m Margi Erickson, and this is my husband, Doug.  We look forward to welcoming you to the C.W. Worth House Bed and Breakfast. Our goal is to spoil you!  We will see to your comfort and enjoyment and we strive to consistently provide excellent customer service and to exceed your expectations.

Our bed and breakfast is located in the Historic District of Wilmington, NC, which is along the Cape Fear River.  The C.W. Worth House has been a continuously operating bed and breakfast since 1985.  Doug and I love to stroll down to the river front for a sunset or to visit the local attractions and also to keep abreast of what’s new with downtown restaurants. This way we can share our favorites with you, our guests.  We love being ambassadors to the city of Wilmington.

Your hosts, Doug and Margi, pictured above, arrived in Wilmington from Montclair, New Jersey in 1995 and purchased the C.W. Worth House in 1999.  From 1995 to 1999 we owned a smaller B&B down the street and loved that so much we wanted a larger place.

Meet Simon, our Mascot

Let me introduce you to our beloved mascot, Simon.  He is an apple-head seal point Siamese-Burmese mix and is very sweet.  He may greet you at the door when you return in the evening.  He mostly stays in our quarters or outside and does not go into the guest rooms.  Sometimes you can hear him “cry” when he is looking for us and he sounds like a baby crying.

The picture of us above was taken in 2004.  The beautiful painting in the background was done by a guest of the inn, Jane Cress Edgar.  We had an artist reception for her and her paintings at the time and 10% of  the proceeds went to the American Red Cross.  The American Red Cross is very dear to us.  Doug has been a disaster volunteer and worked with them off and on for the last 20 years.

In closing
As a part of our community involvement we feel it is important to give back.  We do this by donating room nights, meeting space and hosting guest speakers for local non-profits at our inn.  We also volunteer our time at many local non-profits when we can.  We focus most of our energies on catering to the needs of you, our guests and your comfort and enjoyment.
