We welcome you to the C. W. Worth House Bed and Breakfast. We are excited you are here. Our bed and breakfast is located in the Historic District of Wilmington, NC which is along the Cape Fear River. The C. W. Worth House has been a continuously operating bed and breakfast for 30 years. We took over the inn 17 years ago. Doug and I love to stroll down to the river front and visit the local attractions and also keep abreast of what’s new with downtown restaurants. This way we can share our favorites with you, our guests. We love being ambassadors to the city of Wilmington. Our goal is to spoil you and to offer consistently excellent customer service and exceed your expectations.
Your hosts, Doug and Margi, pictured above, arrived in Wilmington from Montclair, New Jersey in 1995 and purchased the C.W. Worth House in 1999.
Let me introduce you to our beloved mascot, Simon. He is an apple head seal point Siamese Burmese mix and is very sweet. He may greet you at the door when you return in the evening. He mostly stays in our quarters or outside and does not go into the guest rooms. Sometimes you can hear him “cry” when he is looking for us and he sounds like a baby crying.
The picture above was taken in 2004. The beautiful painting in the background was done by a guest of the inn, Jane Cress Edgar. We had an artist reception for her and her paintings at the time and 10% of the proceeds went to the American Red Cross. The American Red Cross is very dear to us. Doug has been a disaster volunteer and has worked for them off and on for the last 20 years.
As a part of our community involvement we feel it is important to give back. We do this by donating room nights, meeting space and hosting guest speakers for local non-profits. We also volunteer our time at many local non-profits when we can. We focus most of our energies on catering to the needs of you, our guests and your comfort and enjoyment.
