Here is a sample itinerary for your “Fun Day” in historic Wilmington North Carolina:  Wake up to a gourmet breakfast with your fellow travelers then start out on a tour of the historic district (there are several to choose from). For the afternoon grab the water taxi over to the battleship North Carolina for a great tour rich in history (allow a couple hours) or tour one or all three of the house museums–The Bellamy Mansion, The Burgwin-Wright House and Gardens or The Latimer House.  While planning for dinner, enjoy a wine tasting at Mon Ame, a new wine and chocolate tasting room on South 2nd Street or Second Glass, a new wine bar/restaurant in the Cargo District next to Benny’s Big Time Pizza.   Choose from several other favorite downtown restaurants such as Pinpoint, Manna or Rx.  Check out these fabulous farm to table options.  Or for something completely different, try a foodie tour – Taste Carolina Gourmet Food Tours.  Maybe it’s time for a short nap or a massage at Wholesome Journey.  Then, back at the Inn, join your innkeepers and other guests for wine and stories about your day’s adventures. The innkeepers will share with you their favorite restaurants (like Savorez or Circa 1922 ) or any of the others listed here and let you know about any evening activities of interest such as live theatre or the local music scene.  Rest well, we’ll do it all over again tomorrow!!

Start with a before dinner drink and appetizer at one of these:

Waterline Brewing Company – under the Cape Fear Memorial bridge, awesome beer and food trucks!
Fortunate Glass Wine Bar – Great wine bar with tapas in Wilmington
Palate Bottle Shop and Reserve – extensive selection of wine and beer, live music

Some of our favorite dining options…

Savorez – Savorez serves up the best Latin American inspired dishes daily
Elijah’s Seafood –
Located on the Cape Fear River
