This fabulous Italian restaurant opened in the middle of the winter during a down economy and are still going strong!
New York Pasta House offers Amazing food. Fresh, flavorful, and anything but ordinary. Order the Tiramisu for dessert, worth every delicious calorie. We have eaten here on a few occasions and have always enjoyed ourselves and left with a full belly! As they say: It's Italian Done Right. Be sure to tell Bekim (the owner) that we sent you!
Candles Etc...
Michael and Howard moved Candles Etc... from down along the river near Elijah's to 25 Market Street and are now home to the Old Wilmington Candle Company, makers of 100% Soy candles (only available through Candles Etc...) Please pay them a visit and tell them that we sent you. Oh, they're not just candles, they carry a large variety of candle accessories and unique gifts from North Carolina too. Their store is lovely and welcoming.

¼ C. vegetable oil
1 large egg
½ C. whole milk
1 t. vanilla
1 ½ C. flour
¾ C. sugar
2 t. baking powder
½ t. salt
1 ½ C. blueberries
STREUSEL
2/3 C. packed brown sugar
2 T. flour
2 t. cinnamon
1/2 C. chopped pecans
2 T. melted butter
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9-inch baking dish.
To Make Streusel Topping:
In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients EXCEPT melted butter for STREUSEL topping. Set aside.
To Make Cake:
In large bowl whisk oil, sugar, egg, vanilla and milk until well combined.
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add to the above mixture and stir with wooden spoon just until combined. Don’t over mix. With a rubber spatula, gently fold in the blueberries—don’t over mix. Transfer cake batter to prepared baking dish.
Add melted butter to topping mixture and stir to combine. Sprinkle on top of cake batter. Bake for 30-35 minutes. The cake will puff up and brown around the edges. Check with toothpick for doneness.
Green Corner
I have a couple of quick suggestions this month. Recycle your CFLs. Hopefully we are all buying more of these energy-saving compact fluorescent bulbs. CFLs do contain mercury and we don't want them to end up in a landfill. Free, safe disposal is now available at many retailers including The Home Depot and IKEA. I save mine in a small box and when I have several I take them to Home Depot. Keep an eye out for LEDs which are coming down in price and last a lot longer.
Also, now that it is Spring (Yeah!), reverse your ceiling fans. Make sure you know which way the breeze is blowing. In the Spring and Summer the fan should spin counterclockwise (or down) for cooling and reversed in the Winter.
In closing, please feel free to call or write to us with your questions or comments. We hope to see you soon at the C. W. Worth House Bed and Breakfast! Please remember to follow us on our C.W. Worth house Blog and
