The NC Azalea Festival began in 1948 and was founded by Dr. W. Houston Moore, M.D. as a way of showcasing the local gardens. The largest festival of its kind in the state, today the festival includes concerts, a parade, a street fair, festive galas, fun family events, and more.

Lodging is currently available at the C.W Worth House Bed & Breakfast and is in perfect proximity to all NC Azalea Festival events. In fact, last year many of the floats used in the parade were staged right in front of the bed & breakfast before proceeding into the parade.
